Angels kicking ass on tv?
We were rather fond of 2009s
Legion – a strange sci-fi flick which pitched
Paul Bettany’s fallen angel Michael against the forces which are threatening to bring about the end of days. At a gas station. In the middle of the desert. There’s even a fight with a be-wing-ed
Kevin Durand at the end.
Director and vfx dude
Scott Stewart went on to helm the underwhelming
Priest but he’s casting his eyes back over the
Legion mythos as news has just surfaced that a TV series is in development.
Ridiculously named American cable channel
Syfy is working to bring the series to the small screen with
Stewart on board to direct and executive produce. The basic movie plot revolved around a small group of people who are the only ones left as the apocalypse approaches, with one survivor carrying the child that might be able to save humanity. And then there was
Bettany’s uzi-carrying angel trying to save the day.
Production is expected to start soon and the series could well premier this year.
