My brain still puzzles over the existence of a fourth Mad Max film, let alone one directed by original creator George Miller.
It boggles further still that Warner Bros not only nurtured the project for years but also gave Miller a massive budget, despite long delays.
And it basically can't fathom the fact that after all that, the movie itself looks like it might be the action flick of the decade.
Case in the point - the latest International trailer (which we think maybe might come from Japan) looks like the most ludicrous kind of cartoon with fire and steel and warring cars clashing in the middle of a maelstrom that's all aflame. And all to some booming classical music. Naturally.
Turn up the volume and bask in this...
For mayhem fans, this is going to be something truly special.
Tom Hardy is Max, who doesn't appear to be doing a lot of talking so far. And we're just fine with that. In some ways it looks like the story might belong more properly belong to Charlize Theron's Furiosa, who seems to be trying to save a bunch of supermodel in the desert. Nicholas Hoult also stars, as well as original Mad Max fellow Hugh Keays-Byrne. He's a baddie again.
It's all looking very excellent indeed, so much so that the PG-13 rating might not be an issue. We hope.
Mad Max: Fury Road is in cinemas fom the 15th of May 2015.
