Michael Collins debuts on blu-ray in Ireland today

Epic drama Michael Collins turns 20 this year, a full two decades since the streets of Dublin were used to turn back the clock to 1916.

With the Rising celebrating its centenary this year, it's the perfect time to revisit the film and Warner Bros Home Video have decided to do something special for the event. The film is making its debut on high definition home video with a blu-ray release in Ireland on the 4th of March 2016.

From today, you can get a fully digitally remastered version of the film in high def for the first time, alongside exclusive never before seen extras. These include a new introduction to the film by director Neil Jordan as well as a full length commentary by the filmmaker. You'll also find deleted scenes on the disk.

Michael Collins features an all star cast lead by Liam Neeson in the title role as well as Julie Roberts, Alan Rickman, Brendan Gleeson, Charles Dance and Stephen Rea. The new version is available at HMV, Tower Records, Tesco and other outlets in Ireland now, with a DVD option also available.
