Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Batman, Sleeyp Hollow, Batman Returns... Tim Burton used to be the creator of our dreams and nightmares before he lost his way in CG nonsense and Wonderland.
There's still hope film fans in his next project - Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - and in this fantastic trailer.
Those are some tasty visuals with a fine eye for escapism and a tough or two of creepiness, which is never a problem in children's stories. The tale comes from the first in a series of books by Ransom Riggs, with two other novels continuing the adventures of these peculiar children.
It's looking pretty great, with some support by the likes of Eva Green and Samuel L. Jackson and a leading role for Asa Butterfield, who is just perfect when you want a kid who sticks out a bit. Irish fella Chris O'Dowd also has a role as Asa's dad and there are more treats in store like Ruper Everett, Allison Janney and twin treasures Terence Stamp and Dame Judi Dench.
Mainly we're just hoping the sense of wonder doesn't get stifled too much by all of those special effects. See it in cinemas from the 30th of September, 2016.
