The real story of Pablo Escobar is almost impossible to believe, which made it great fodder for the first season of Narcos on Netflix. Now the tale is set to continue in season 2.
Here's the first trailer, which suggests that the war is just beginning, and things are going to get bloody and action packed.
The first season flitted through a lot of years to bring the timeline from the late 70s up to the early 90s and anyone familiar with history will have an idea of what's coming next. But there's still time to include plenty of dodgy dealings and increasingly desperate law enforcement, as well as giving the great Wagner Moura the chance to steal more scenes as Escobar.
There are a few iffy CG shots here but to date the show has been a high quality production, complete with great period detail and reacreations of some of Escobar's most daring stunts. And it looks like things are going to be even bigger in season 2.
Right now we don't know if there will be further episodes of the show in the future, it depends on how much ground is covered in this 10 episode run and whether the focus could widen out to other characters.
Season 2 of Narcos is on Netflix from the 2nd of September, 2016
