Tom Cruise is back on our screens this year with Edge of Tomorrow - a sci fi actioner with a wonderfully brain bending premise.
You see, everytime inexperienced soldier William Cage (Cruise) dies on his first day of battle he wakes up again at the beginning of the day. Doomed to die again. But each time he does, he remembers what came before, giving him the smallest edge in the battle which he can use to his advantage. He just has to die a few hundred times to get the beats right.
The film also stars the really rather lovely Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton and is directed by Doug Liman from a script by Christopher McQuarrie, Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth. And it all comes from the original short novel All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka - which you really should read.
Here's a new tease for the film, which foregrounds the live die repeat premise .
Edge of Tomorrow is incinemas from May 30th 2014.
