Daniel Craig's time as James Bond has been pretty turbulent. Taking the character back to the beginning meant serious drama in Casino Royale and serious consequences in Skyfall. And something else happened in between that we won't speak of.
Now, Bond 24 is actively in the works, with Skyfall director Sam Mendes making a return for a story that will continue right where we left off on Bond's previous adventure. That is, emotionally scarred and ready to make someone pay. And that person may just be 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Ejiofor is one of the finest actorsaround (not to mention being an awesome baddie in Serenity)and his inclusion in the Bond franchise would be yet another step on the road to making it one of the finest critical and commerical movie series around. But the deal is not quite done yet - according to The Wrap there's no formal negotiation going on right now but he's at the top of the list of candidates the studio wants.
The means if we hear about someone else getting cast in the role its because Ejiofor said now. Which could be a little awkward for the second string option.
Bond 24 will also see the return of players like Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw as well as writer John Logan.
Bond 24 has a release date of the 23rd of October 2015.
