Pacific Rim goes viral
The countdown is on...
A new viral campaign launched for Pacific Rim with a website to boot. The website, designed for the Pan Pacific Defence Corps, features a test video for the Kaiju Emergency Alert system along with a countdown that will expire on December 12th. The world map could be dotted with additional material over the next two weeks, but contains just the test footage from San Francisco for now.

A leaked memo from the Great Britain Air Command has also made its way onto the internet. This document indicates that five exceptional pilots have been recommended for assignment to the PPDC Jaeger Initiative. This initiative could be the only thing that stands between the “beast known as the Kaiju” and the extermination of humans. Hopefully the world’s forces are uniting to put their best soldiers forward.

Previously, we got a glimpse at the mechanical protectors of earth in a promotional video for Mirada. It was a snapshot, but gave an idea of the scale that we could be looking at. We may get more of an indication of what is to be expected when the timer ticks down to 0 on December 12th. Pacific Rim will be released in Europe and North America on July 12th, 2013.
