Pacific Rim to get 3D treatment
Will this post-conversion work?
While Pacific Rim was shot in 2D, it looks as though Warners is pushing through the task of post-converting the film for 3D. Guillermo del Toro admitted at Comic Con that he was reluctant to convert the film to 3D because of the scale and size of the creatures. However, Warners is more fond of utilising the format whenever possible; remember Wrath of the Titans? The director will oversee the conversion process so hopefully the conversion can be handled carefully.

Pacific Rim stars Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam and Charlie Day as the human pilots of giant robots in a face off against an alien attack. From the sounds of it, Pacific Rim sounds like the perfect fit for 3D. No trailer has been released yet, so our imagination will just have to run wild at the thoughts of aliens fighting robots. There’s plenty of time for the conversion process to take place. The film is due for release on July 12th 2013.
