Feeling confident
The feeling in the Irish camp is pretty confident as we face the semi-finals tonight. I think we’re more optimistic now than when we started out last week.
It’s not a great semi-final for Jedward but performing last is a very good position. We need to be in the top 10 of 18 countries to qualify tonight.
I sat up last night and did the sums and tried to work it all out. I looked at all the favourites and the dead-certs expected to get through tonight — like Russia.
I went through it all and I think we’re going to make it. We’ve got a great stage performance and Jedward are giving it everything they’ve got. I think we’re going to be staying the rest of the week!
Hairs the really big question
Believe it or not but there’s been a lot of discussion about Jedward’s hair for tonight. The twins have had several phone chats with their hairdresser,
Louise Teasdale, who is in New York with One Direction. She thought they should wear it in their usual spiky style because it’s a good gimmick.
The rest of us are saying they should have their Jedward hair on too. But the lads have made the decision to wear their hair down as they call the shots when it comes to styling — and they rarely put a foot wrong.
The lads suit up
The guys were totally thrilled when
Louis Copeland sent them out two stylish blue pin-stripe suits this week. They wore them with pride as they met with host country Azerbaijan’s Eurovision act, Sabina, yesterday. But they had to take extra care wearing them around their rabbits, Euro and Vision.
One of the bunnies ended up having a bit of an accident yesterday morning and peed on one of the twin’s beds — and they definitely didn’t want the same thing happening to their favourite brand new suits!
Commando operation for Irish delegation
Take it from me that the entire Irish delegation will be going commando for the next few days. All of us have run out of clean clothes after a week. In particular, we’ve run out of clean underwear. I went out with the backing dancers on an assignment to find a launderette in Baku.
We found one but it seems laundering clothes takes time. Two days in fact. So we had to leave the launderette with no clean clothes and face a wait of 48 sweaty and smelly hours before things get any better.
