BioWare’s Mike Laidlaw, Executive Producer and lead game designer for Dragon Age 2 has recently admitted to Playstation Universe that the campaign length is actually shorter than its previous instalment, Dragon Age Origins.
Fret not however; Laidlaw assures us it’s still longer than Mass Effect 2.
And considering it recently took my own self a whopping 52 hours to consume each tasty morsel of the Sci-Fi spectacular, Fantasy fans should still have a title to keep them busy for months to come.
As is ever the case with Sandbox RPGs, the faithful Side-Quest will naturally play an important part in extending and prolonging the sequel's campaign.
Laidlaw explained,
'The game will take longer with side quests. At the same time, you can get through the story quite a bit faster because so much content is off to the side. Mileage will always vary, just take your habits and extrapolate.&'
Dragon Age 2 has been described as a more immediate, more dynamic gameplay experience than its predecessor. So perhaps this accounts for the shorter campaign length, less time waiting for your sword to swing!
Either way you’ll have our review of BioWare’s latest Fantasy Epic next week when Click 20 hits the shelves.
