South Park RPG coming from Obsidian and THQ in 2012
Surprising and interesting news coming from THQ and Obsidian today, as their development of a South Park RPG has been confirmed by the forthcoming of Game Informer. South Park: The Game, which features heavy involvement from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone will be available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at some point next year, although specifics are thin on the ground at the moment.

Given the fact that Obsidian make some really rather good (if somewhat buggy) RPG titles, like Fallout: New Vegas, it's fair to say that we have relatively high hopes for this game. All that's known about the premise so far is that, to quote Game Informer's website, players have to "make friends and defend the town from a wide range of threats."

This is certainly one to keep your eye on over the coming months, and we'll be bringing you all the latest information as soon as we hear anything. In the mean time, why not enjoy the swanky Game Informer January cover, which is dedicated entirely to the game.
