In an interview with the website Collider, actor Antonio Banderas has claimed that plans are afoot for a follow-up to 2011's box office hit, Puss in Boots. Despite the fact that the movie performed admirably, very little was ever mooted about the possibility of a sequel, which is strange in this day and age, but fans of the flick should have no fear, because a sequel is definitely on the way according to the actor.
We started the new one four days ago. It [the original]did incredibly well with audiences and critics, all around the world, and the character is going to keep going. This character was born almost 12 years ago. We have had a lot of fun with him, and it seems that audiences do, too. So, we’re doing another one.
We take Puss to a completely different land which is very exotic. When Chris Miller, the director, said, ‘I don’t want Puss to happen in the same universe as theShrekmovies visually, I want to do a spaghetti western,’ he is, in this case, trying to do an adventure movie so we’re taking him to a very exotic locale.
The news that director Chris Miller wants to take the character away from the Shrek universe and in its own direction is definitely a good sign, and as for the exotic location? It's got to be somewhere hispanic hasn't it? Mexico perhaps?
