Without doubt a huge part of the appeal of the first season of True Detective was seeing two real life movie stars telling us a dark tale week on week, especially as it coincided with an Oscar win for McConaughey.
And that superstar quality is set to continue with the second series, as Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn have already been confirmed in the lead roles. Now it seems Rachel McAdams is officially considering coming on board in the role of a sheriff who struggles with gambling and alcohol addictions. Sounds like its going to stay pretty dark.
McAdams is a compelling actress though hasn't taken on many challenging roles lately and it has to be said she hasn't definitely got the part yet. Apparently Taylor Kitsch is circling the final main role and other details include the fact that Fast and Furious director Justin Lin will helm the first two episodes.
Expect True Detective Season 2 to debut in early 2015.
