San Fran under attack in Pacific Rim clip
Get a glimpse at the aliens.
The newest clip from Pacific Rim is a short mashup of a variety of news reports detailing how “giant creatures” are attacking San Francisco. The city becomes a war zone as one particular reporter states. The clip jumps between the reports and found footage, and the sighting of the giant Kaiju monsters is brief as a result. At the same time, it is enough to get an idea of the scale of the invader.

The film sees Earth battling against this alien attack using giant, human-piloted robots. We possibly got a glimpse of one of these mechanical giants already thanks to the release of a promotional video for Mirada. A blueprint for these giants has also been released comparing the size of a person against one of them. The pilots will be housed in the visor of the robot.

Yesterday, we reported that Pacific Rim was attempting to launch a viral promotional campaign with a countdown website and an emergency broadcast signal. It looks like San Francisco will be launching this signal earlier than hoped. The countdown timer has two weeks to run, so we could see a lot more promotional material in the very near future.

Pacific Rim will be released on July 12th, 2013.
