Justice League is filming right now, and we're just going to have to wait and see if Zack Snyder can deliver a film that's a little less dour than his superhero efforts so far.
At least he's got a decent cast, including a returning Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot (who was one of the best things in Batman v Superman) as well as the first proper looks at Ezra Miller (Flash), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg).
Another strong addition to the mix is J.K. Simmons who will play Commissioner James Gordon for the first time. The 61 year old is one of the best actors around and recently picked up an Oscar for his work on Whiplash. Here's a first look at the fellow in costume, thanks to Snyder's Twitter.
Looking good, and that's never been the problem with these pictures. This will be the second major comic book role for Simmons, who memorably played J.Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's three Spider-Man films.
We're looking forward to seeing how the relationship is built up between Affleck's Bat and Simmons' Gordon, and it will only get deeper with the upcoming standalone Batman flick.
Justice League is out in November, 2017.
