See new behind the scenes footage from the digital release of Star Wars

38 years after A New Hope hit cinemas, you may think you've seen everything you could ever want to see about the Star Wars saga but there's even more to come.

The six films to date - the original and prequel trilogies) are getting ready to hit Digital HD for the first time, so you'll be able to download and stream them from places like iTunes and Google Play. And LucasFilm is putting some serious effort into these releases, also including a bunch of behind the scenes material, some of which has already appeared on home media. The more interesting stuff is the brand new material, including interviews and a bunch of featurettes delving into specific aspects of the Star Wars universe.

And now we're getting a look at the kind of content which will be included on the downloads. First up, here's a chat about the how a frantic redesign created one of the most iconic starships ever on the big screen, including a chat with future film director Joe Johnston (Jumanji, Jurassic Park III) who was an effects designer on A New Hope.

There's also a brief look at the costumes of The Empire Strikes Back, including some info about the real colour of Han's jacket on Hoth!

The Star Wars saga comes to Digital HD from the 10th of April 2015
