If you haven’t had your fill of the
American Pie series, there is another one on the way.
American Reunion brings back the central cast of the original and attempts to blend their past with their current, more grown-up situations. It looks like the film is going to attempt a balance between the juvenile comedy that many expect from the series with more mature story arcs, although “mature” may be stretching it a bit. The trailer gives a good account of what audiences can expect from this outing.
The guys are back home for a reunion, which is the perfect reason to get drunk and get caught up in shenanigans like they used to. Jim gets invited to an 18th birthday party of a girl that he used to babysit, which acts as the perfect distraction from his married-with-kid lifestyle. Elsewhere, his dad looks set to get back up on the horse, while Stifler is…Stifler. A lot has changed for the various characters since 1999, so it will be interesting to see how it all falls together.
American Reunion will open in cinemas on April 6th in North America and May 2nd in Europe.
