The craze for films with a musical background or theme is ongoing and that is going to be both a help and hindrance for
Pitch Perfect. On the one hand, it has an instant market, but it is going to face the label of “Glee in movie format”. Pitch Perfect tells the story of a new college student who is coerced into joining an a cappella group after her hidden talents are laid bare…literally. She joins a ragtag group of cheerleaders, oddballs and sweet girls and finds herself in the middle of a “war” between rival a cappella groups.
Pitch Perfect has a strong soundtrack behind it from the clips in the trailer and will certainly appeal in the midst of musical comedies and films. Hopefully it can do enough to stand out from the crowd, create its own reputation and avoid the labels of Glee or “Bring It On with music”.The cast of Pitch Perfect includes

Adam DeVine. The film will be released in North America on October 5th and in Europe on October 19th.
