Skyfall will be the first Bond film to be converted to
IMAX format. The film will be released in IMAX cinemas worldwide in October 2012. Skyfall was not shot in IMAX, which means there will be certain elements missing, but it should be an impressive affair.
IMAX President, Greg Foster, said that the group is delighted to have worked on this project and is excited about the opportunity to bring Skyfall to IMAX cinemas. He added, “It is an honour and a privilege to be a part of this legendary franchise, whose iconic characters and electrifying action will only be amplified in the IMAX format."
Skyfall is set for international release on October 26th before a release in the United States on November 9th. The story is set to test Bond’s loyalty to M as her past comes back to haunt her.
Daniel Craig returns as Bond, while
Judi Dench reprises her role as M. Skyfall will also see the addition of
Ralph Fiennes,
Javier Bardem and
Naomie Harris.
