The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is in cinemas today, which is a pretty big deal when you consider director Peter Jackson has been playing in the Middle Earth sandbox since the late 90s.
It's a massive film, and there's no bigger character in it than Smaug. The terrible, fire-breathing dragon of old, who sits atop his pile of gold and is mean to anything that comes within range. But maybe he's just misunderstood, at least according to this revealing interview between Smaug himself and Stephen Colbert.
That's some pretty impressive animation and it sounds like its also Benedict Cumberbatch doing the voice, though it's been processed a bit differently than it is in the film. Presumably this was all planned and canned long enough ago to give the animators time to put it together but as promos go its very slick indeed.
