After a stint on the Fast and Furious series and having wrapped up Star Trek Beyond, Justin Lin is in talks for another directorial gig. He is being lined up to helm Space Jam 2.
The sequel to the 90s classic is set to star Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James, though he needs to sign off on the script before officially signing on. Other basketball players are expected to cameo too, as happened in the original.
It’s as yet unclear as to whether Bill Murray or Michael Jordan will make appearances.
The script is being penned by Andrew Dodge (Bad Words) with input from Lin. They are working together on a few projects of late, including an untitled cop comedy and a TV drama for HBO.
Space Jam was released in 1997, starred Michael Jordan and a gaggle of Looney Tunes favourites, and went on to gross $230 million worldwide.
