Reports have emerged today that the next installment of the Star Wars series, Episode VII, is currently using the working title "The Ancient Fear". The news will undoubtedly lead to plenty of speculation among the series' dedicated community, but it's very possible that the actual title bears little or no relevance to the content of the movie, as in-production flicks often use seemingly random or unrelated codenames.
Website Ain't It Cool News is claiming that a source close to the production of the movie has passed on information that The Ancient Fear is the title being used on the set, and in relation to any internal discussion about the movie. When asked about the relevance of the suffix, the source said:
It refers to Max Von Sydow's villain, who makes Pazuzu look like a pussy!
If that proves to be accurate information, then another piece of the Episode VII jigsaw may have fallen into place, with the movie's chief antagonist finally identified. Although the bulk of the cast has been announced, it remains unclear as to who will be playing what roles, so identifying Sydow as the bad guy could help internet sleuths make more sense of the rest of the lineup.
