Steven Spielberg To Direct The BFG

Roald Dahl fans rejoice! We are finally getting the big screen adaption of Rolad Dalh's The BFG which has been in development heck for many years now. Steven Spielberg is going to take the reins. He'll be directing the movie. The script was written by Melissa Mathison, E.T. writer, and Michael Siegel and John Madden are going to serve as executive producers. This will be the first time that BFG will grace the big screen although it did receive a good animated adaption back in 1989.

The BFG was illustrated by Quentin Blake, and was first published back in 1982. It tells the story of a young girl named Sophie who befriends the titular Big Friendly Giant. The BFG is a gentleman who exsists in opposition to the unfriendly man-eating giants. We are sure that Steven Spielberg will adapt this book into a wonderful movie.

Production for The BFG should start in early 2015 with a 2016 release date.
