Mark the date in your diary: The Avengers 2 has been pencilled in for release on May 1st 2015. Plenty of time to ensure that nothing you have planned will clash with it. Marvel has been keen to avoid releasing too many superhero movies in a given year. 2013 will be the year of Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World, 2014’s lineup includes Captain America: The Winter Soldier and possibly Ant-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy.

Nothing is known about the movie, so speculation is likely to run riot for the next few years. If we look at Avengers who have movies coming out in the next few years, the lineup should include the ever popular Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. Other Marvel characters which could feature in an Avengers movie, although the film rights are possessed elsewhere at the moment, include Spider-Man and Wolverine.
