Battlestar Galactica got a hell of a reboot in the form of Ronald D Moore's mini-series turned space epic. Attempted spin offs never really went anywhere so its time for another reboot.
An entirely new film project has been rumoured for several years but it now picking up steam, thanks to writer Jack Paglen getting the gig. He's literally only written Transcendence for Wally Pfister and while there are no reviews out yet, that job was enough to get him work on Prometheus 2 and Battlestar.
Variety reports on the hiring, which was by Universal for active development under Scott Bernstein and Jay Polidoro. There's no other talent attached and no release date but we're to expect a completely new version of the story which will probably still have humans and cylons and things happening in space.
More as we get it.
