Comic-Con always throws up a couple of surprises and this year one of those was a little short called
Dirty Laundry. It may not sound interesting just yet but what if I told you it was an all new
Punisher mini movie starring the one and only
Thomas Jane.
Got your attention?
Jane himself was on hand in San Diego on Saturday the 14th of July to unveil a first look at the short, which was directed by music video dude
Phil Joanou and written by
Chad St. John. Check it out, though we’re letting it be known it’s a little on the violent side. As though you were expecting bunnies licking puppies in a marshmallow house.
That was, in my person opinion, pretty damn cool. Jane still looks the part, and oddly ageless and there’s a nice bit part for
Ron Perlman and his fabulous facial hair. The action is suitably tough when it comes and we’re given plenty of reasons to be thoroughly satisfied when that baddies uppance comes.
The Punisher was given short shrift in cinemas, despite the fact that the original entry is a lot of fun. I will not speak of
Warzone. Sadly, we shouldn’t take this outing as a prelude to a new feature, or even the first in a series of shorts. Jane made is sound like this was a once off passion project and had this to say:
“I wanted to make a fan film for a character I’ve always loved and believed in – a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It’s been a blast to be a part of from start to finish — we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.”He also commented a good deal more on Twitter.
So, did you enjoy this new taste of Frank Castle?
