Daredevil season 2 might still have mostly been about the blind lawyer from Hell's Kitchen but there's no doubt that the character of The Punisher stole the first half of the show.
Partly that's down to the fact that he's such a great foil for Daredevil, and it's also down to Jon Bernthal's gritty portrayal of a man with nothing left to lose. Netflix did the proper thing and confirmed a standalone series for Punisher and it might be coming sooner than expected.
A poster on Reddit found this info for The Punisher buried in the Netflix app.
So it might be just a year or so until we see Frank Castle killing it up on the screen again. Considering that Netflix and Marvel already have Iron Fist and The Defenders set for 2017 that would be a lot of series in a single year but the company is ramping up production on its original content so why not keep it all going as much a possible?
Next up is Luke Cage which gets his own standalone series (after appearing in Jessica Jones) which kicks off on September 30th 2016.
