Vin Diesel is great for sharing on social media, and his most recent video comes with the revelation that the role of Special Agent Hobbs in the Fast and Furious franchise was originally written for Tommy Lee Jones.
Fast Five could have had a very different take on the role, but the fans spoke up, requesting that Vin Diesel do a movie with Dwayne Johnson. The part was rewritten and Vin Diesel backed his co-star, saying that he “shined in it.” Johnson has been a major part of the franchise ever since.
Diesel didn’t touch on the recent reports that the two had a falling out on set, which came to light after Johnson’s comments on social media where he spoke about writing with “candy ass” actors and thanked co-stars aside from Vin Diesel. The two have since held a meeting, according to TMZ, to bury the hatchet.
Fast 8 will be released on April 14, 2017.
