Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie
Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie must have seemed like a match made in fanboy/girl heaven but this supposed comedy thriller from the director of The Lives of Others stumbles at every possible opportunity to entertain. Jolie’s femme fatale plays against her ass kicking and seductive strengths while Depp looks overweight and bamboozled by the predictable plot. Worst of all, there’s absolutely no spark between the leads and no amount of PG-13 friendly smouldering can fix that. At least there’s capable support from always likeable Paul Bettany and Timothy Dalton while the underrated Rufus Sewell pops in for a brief role. Johnny, this is a role Sam Worthington walked away from – you should know better.
