The X-Files came back against all odds earlier this year with a six episode limited run which reunited pretty much everyone along with some new faces.
Beyond the glow of nostalgia, these episodes weren't that well received by fans or critics but that doesn't mean the adventures of Dana and Fox are over.
The latest news is that Fox definitely wants to pursue more episodes, according to President David Madden:
“We would obviously love to do another season. There are significant talks going on with all three of the principals. Schedules are hard but we’re working hard to get this done.”
The folks involved are pretty busy, particularly Gillian Anderson and she was the most vocal in recent months suggesting that it might be time to put the series to bed. Getting them back for a 10 episode run sounds like a lot of hard work and while there's still a lot of fondness for the property there may come a time when fans stop being interested if the quality doesn't improve.
