Tom Hardy and Doug Liman in talks for Splinter Cell Adaptation
Splinter Cell is set for release in 2015.

Mr and Mrs Smith director, Doug Liman, is said to be in talks to direct the adaptation of the hit video game Splinter Cell. Also attached to the project is Tom Hardy who is rumoured to be playing the role of Sam Fisher, a secret government spy who fights terrorists.

The film is being writting by Eric Singer (American Hustle) and production is expected to start in August, with a release date set for 2015. The film was previously tipped to be directed by Battleship and Lone Survivor director Peter Berg.

With over 23 million units sold in 2012, Splinter Cell is one of the biggest video game franchises in the world.
