Which means ‘Thugs’.
I felt I should finally clarify that one.
Admittedly these clips have been making the rounds for a few days.
And yes, the audio is buggered in the second clip. But seriously, have a look at that scrapping!
Either one of these 30 second segments could challenge the grand finales of most Hollywood actioners. That’s probably because the cameras don’t need to dance around too-precious actors. These dudes are professional stuntees – they can take their licks and make it look good. Thus, choppy edits become unnecessary.
But its more than just the long shots – the scenes are stuffed with choreography. Not only is there a wealth of imagination at work here but there’s a high density of techniques. Co-Choreographersand stars Iko Uwais (fight 1) and Yayan Ruhian (fight 2) stuff even the smallest encounter with visceral manouvers, cramming twice as much into thirty seconds as any western counterpart.
Bearin mind there are reports of seven and a half minute fights towards the latter half of BERANDAL and we could be faced with an Action Movie like no other on April 11th!
