Prop Store was built on a dream. In 1998 Stephen Lane decided he wanted to start the ultimate collection of movie props, to preserve the detailed and amazing work which goes into bringing our favourite films to life.
12 years on and he's made that dream a reality, with offices in London and L.A. and over 15,000 feet of storage full of carefully preserved stuff from the flicks. And now, you can get a piece of that action.
On the 16th of October 2014, Prop Store is holding a massive live auction of some of their most coveted items. They've teamed up with Vue Cinemas for the ocaission, bringing the auction experience into the perfect cinema setting for their wares.
375 items will be on sale during the auctio, including some very familar props like an Alien queen puppet from the acclaimed franchise, one of Arnie's jackets from Terminator 2 and perhaps the holy grail - the bleeding hoverboard from Back to the Future Part II!
Marty McFly's mode of transport is expected to go for at least £10,000 but this isn't just for the super rich - there are items starting at £80 and even if you don't win anything on the day the buzz will be absolutely electric. You'll also be able to bid on the phone and online.
There's more good news, most of the items will be on show at the Vue Cinemas in Westfield, London from the 1st to the 16th of October. It's like a mini museum of movie memories! A full colour catalogue of everything on sale will be available in early September, with a PDF also set to appear online.
