The Fast & Furious franchise kicked off a long time ago in 2001 and it shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Furious 7 was the biggest film in the franchise yet and there are already release dates for episodes nine and ten set for 2019 and 2021. But before all that, it's time to get Furious 8 in the can.
The show marked the first day of production with a video, confirming the shoot is starting in Cuba. This is certainly the biggest film to shoot on the island, with diplomatic relationships with the USA only recently starting to become a little friendlier.
Here's the video.
It's short and to the point, suggesting that Furious 8 will definitely manage to feature one of those random car show scenes which have been a feature of the series for fifteen years now. Right in the middle you can see new director F. Gary Gray, who most recently helmed Straight Outta Compton.
The eighth feature in the series will take the action mainly to New York and sees the return of the mysterious Frank Petty, played by Kurt Russell and introduced in Furious 7. The rest of the cast is back, sadly minus Paul Walker, and Charlize Theron is on board in a villain role.
We're expecting plenty of cars that are furious and people that are fast - is that right?
Furious 8 is set for release in April 2017.
