Suicide Squad is due to release in August and anticipation is already at fever pitch, suggesting Warner Bros might have a real hit on their hands.
Today, we've got some new footage which seems to come from the special features of Batman v Superman. It's the first proper behind the scenes look at Jared Leto as the new take on The Joker, and it's pretty chilling stuff.
He's definitely worlds away from the previous takes on the character, and when the most recent examples come from Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger that can only be a good thing for the actor.
The character himself still remains a bit of a mystery. Joker doesn't appear in much of the trailer footage released so far and isn't a part of the group which is sent out on a mission that might see them dying. Has he already escaped by this time? Could he even be the enemy they're after - we haven't seen a big bad yet.
There's also the possibility that the filmmakers want to leave the character in the shadows as much as possible, giving audiences a reason to check out the full film. If so, that's a refreshingly spoiler free way to get bums in seats.
Suicide Squad is in cinemas on the 5th of August, 2016.
