The Fast and Furious franchise is set to keep on going forever, with sequels planned out to Fast 10 and likely more after that.
And we're ok with the situation because the series has become a pretty kick ass action franchise, with a likeable cast and the kinds of over the top stunts you just don't see anywhere else. Fast 8 is currently in production and the first footage has been revealed of the whole cast together on set.
Yep, that's The Rock giving Jason Statham a manly hug, which is something which really warms our hearts. It's also interesting to see Statham there as he was previously a pretty major enemy for the team, so maybe they'll be working together against new evil doer Charlize Theron. Statham doesn't really play bad guys, so seeing him come on board as part of the regular crew would be fantastic.
Otherwise it's a pretty packed ensemble with returning players Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Kurt Russell and Nathalie Emmanuel all in the fame here, plus newcomer Scott (son of Clint) Eastwood in a nice suit. Lucas Black and Elsa Pataky are also back on board.
New director F. Gary Gray has done car stuff before with the remake of The Italian Job and A Man Apart and also recently helmed Straight Outta Compton so the frachise is in safe hands.
Fast 8 is in cinemas in April 2017.
