In 2014, an American filmmaker called Jeremy Sauliner quietly released a partly crowdfunded film called Blue Ruin. It was about a man played by Macon Blair who gets in over his head on a quest for revenge and it was one of the best films of the year that you didn't see.
Now, Saulnier has his next film ready for release, after rave reviews earned at film festivals. And we're ready for Green Room.
It's the story of what happens when a punk band stops for an impromtu gig at an isolated roadhouse but things get a little dicey when they see something they shouldn't. Locked in their green room they have to come up with a way to survive the night against a crowd of Neo Nazis. Did we mention their leader is played by Patrick Stewart?
Here's the first proper teaser trailer for the film.
Everything we've heard about Green Room makes us more and more excited for its potential and its supposed to be a gloriously gory and fabulously funny thriller. What's not to like about those words?
Also starring Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, Alia Shawkat and a returning Macon Blair, Green Room is arriving in cinemas in the States in April 2016 and in these parts hopefully in May.
