Want to Make a Short Film? Filmbase Wants to Give You €20000

For more than 20 years, Filmbase has been supporting emerging Irish filmmakers with their annual short film scheme. And its back again for 2014.

The winner will receive a cash sum of €10,000 as well as professional matching facilities to bring their dream project to life. Even if you've never made a film before, the Filmbase award is open for entry to all, designed to introduce the world to new talent in the thriving world of movie-making.

Applicants need only submit a script for the first round of the process, meaning the focus is very much on the quality of the ideas rather than the experience of the person in question. Shortlisted finalists will be interviewed and the winner will be given all the facilities and guidance they need to make their first film.

Filmbase is keen to point out that story is key and with the closing date of the 26th of September fast approaching its time to get that long-gestating idea down on paper as soon as possible!

Head here for more information and to get applying. Good luck!
