Press junkets are mighty strange things.
Stars are contractually obligated to sit for interviews where they'll answer the same few questions sometimes for months on end, all in the hope that it will get a few more bums in seats. And then some outlets decide that its time for a few gimmicks.
Take Glamour, who have a series where regular folks are beamed in via the magic on an iPad to ask stars questions. Except it's clearly pasted in later, forcing the actors to respond to blank image on a tablet and fudging it all in editing after the fact.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson were recent victims, here's how they got on.
Good gracious that's awkward. Johnson might be trying to come off as flip or quippy but Dornan is straight up wishing he was anywhere else right now. And you can understand why - the 32 year old County Down man was offered the role at the last minute and probably didn't have time to really consider what the experience would be like. And he's likely attached for at least two sequels, to be milled out as soon as possible.
Rumours have been circulating that the two stars don't get on so well in real life and certainly there's no sense of closeness or cameraderie here. The clips from the film to date are also decidedly lacking in any sizzle factor, though fans might not mind if the elaborate sex scenes are more or less intact.
Fifty Shades of Grey is in cinemas from the 13th of February 2015.
