Disney's Maleficent is a fairly strange proposition - a look at the world of Sleep Beauty from the perspective of the evil witch who curses the heroine into a deep, deep sleep.
Are we supposed to be rooting for her nefarious ways or are we going to learn more about the character to make us eventually side with her crusade against blonde chicks? Who knows. For now, Disney is all about selling the visuals.
And they're fairly marvellous - which isn't that much of a surprise given that its the first feature from Oscar-winning production designer Robert Stromberg, who crafted the sights on Avatar and Alice.
Today, there's a new featurette which focusses on the creatures of this strange world - many of whom side with Malificent against the humans. Seriously, who are we supposed to be rooting for here?
I can't deny it looks impressive and Jolie is really going for it in the title role.My only real gripe so far was that I detected a hint of an Oirish accent from Sam Riley in that clip. And it didn't sound like a good one.
Maleficent is in cinemas from the 28th of May 2014.
