After
yesterday’s news that
Ian McKellen and
Patrick Stewart were joining
X-Men: Days of Future Past, many wondered how they would be utilised. We may soon be able to add
Hugh Jackman to those theories as
The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that the actor is in talks to join the project. It wouldn’t be the most surprising addition considering how central Wolverine is to the franchise and his brief appearance in X-Men: First Class.
This addition would lend traction to the theory that the film would follow the story from the comic books. Naturally, this explanation will have some potential spoilers, so skip to the next paragraph if you want to avoid them. As we already reported, this storyline is set in an alternate future in which mutants are tormented by the Sentinels and locked up in camps. The X-Men of the present day are warned of this possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde. The storyline and setting then alternates between the present day and this future timeline, as the X-Men hope to alter their future.
X-Men: Days of Future Past will feature returning cast members
James McAvoy,
Michael Fassbender,
Jennifer Lawrence, and
Nicholas Hoult, along with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. Hopefully we will see Hugh Jackman join the confirmed list of cast members. Filming will begin early in the new year.
