Irish song of the year shortlist announced
TV presenter Daniella Moyles and DJ Tony Fenton launched the shortlist for the Irish Song of the Year Award yesterday.

The prestigious list includes ten Irish acts and is a new addition to the Meteor Choice Music Prize ceremony. The winner will be decided by the public through text vote and online voting.

The nominated songs include Lisa Hannigan's Knots, Maverick Sabreís Let Me Go, Cashier No 9's Goldstar and Bell X1's Velcro.

Other acts nominated are The Coronas, The Kanyu Tree, Little Green Cars, Royseven, Snow Patrol and This Club.
