The Fibbs helped launch Miss Ireland
The Fibbs are a Dublin based five piece band set to make waves around Ireland with their new sound fusing blues, funk, rock’n’roll and hip hop.

The band consists of Ben Whitaker as lead vocalist, St. John Simpson on the bass, Laurence Falconer on lead guitar, Jesse Heffernan on the drums and vocals, along with Alex “Phats” Smyth the M.C. of the band who brings in the hip hop influence.

The band have been writing songs for years - after going to the same school together, however they initially joined up as a band after leaving school to play their first gig in 2008.

After a year long hiatus the band reformed this year in a quest to continue developing their truly unique sound.

The Fibbs got the chance to get their unique sound out there, when they played for the launch of The Miss Ireland finalists in Dublin on Wednesday at Buck's townhouse on Lower Leeson street.

"They've played in various pubs around Dublin and have played for 2fm every now and again. We're applying for festivals at the moment but it's very hard to make it as an unsigned band." said the band's manager William Flynn.
