The HTC One M8 is a beautiful phone with great specs and an augmented version of Android which manages to not be too bloaty. Now you can get the same great phone with a worse OS as a Windows Phone version is coming.
It's easy to give Windows Phone a hard time but while Microsoft has made decent strides in recent years, especially in terms of design and accessibility, the sad fact is that the content is still lacking in the app store. If you're looking to convert users to your OS, you have to at least offer them the same as what they're getting on Android or iOS. Otherwise, why would they bother?
The new HTC One M8 (which might actually be called the W8) could be a better bet for first time smartphone adopters - the WP UI is streamlined and those tiles are large and easy to navigate. But how many first timers are likely to be opting for an expensive premium handset?
This information has yet to be confirmed by HTC, but the company has sent out an invite to press for an event on the 19th of August 2014. Expect more news then.
