Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge owners will be able to get their hands on the latest version of the Android operating system from today.
The announcement comes courtesy of Samsung who added that other compatible devices will "soon follow." Samsung didn't get much more specific than that. It said that it will make "separate announcements on details of OS updates schedule for each market according to market situation and carriers’ requirements."
Android 6.0 Marshmallow was announced last May, but it's been slow to make it to many handsets. Samsung's S6 and S6 Edge are finally getting it, but little is known outside of that, while the LG G4 is getting it from most carriers now.
Android Marshmallow introduces a number of new features, including Now on tap, while app permissions have been overhauled to give users more information over what apps need and want access to.
