Android N gets an official name

Google has revealed that the upcoming Android N will be called Android Nougat.

The Android Twitter account announced the name, and also posted a short video of the newest Android statue being unveiled. It also showcased some of the other considerations, but didn't reveal if Nougat topped the user choice contest.

Interestingly, Google embraced Snapchat as a platform to make the official announcement.

It was expected that Android N would be called Nutella, which the public seemed pretty happy about, though there were plenty of strong, and off-the-wall, contenders in the mix.

Now we just have to wait for Android N to be released later this year.
