Apple and Samsung Going at it Again...
Samsung accused of patent infringement once again...

The seemingly never-ending legal battles between smartphone giants Samsung and Apple are set to continue this week as the duo will once again go toe-to-toe in the countroom, this time in a case focused on patent infringement in Samsungs's Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Tab 2 devices, among others, alleged by Apple.

The Cupertino-based company is seeking up to $2bn in damages against the Korean powerhouse for numerous alleged infringements in the Galaxy range - and even though the case is centred on what could be seen, in tech parlance, as antiquated hardware given that Samsung is currently preparing for the launch of the Galaxy S5 handset, the proceedings will nevertheless be an unwelcome distraction.

Following a protracted legal battle two years ago Samsung was ordered to pay damages in the amount of around $1 billion to Apple for similar patent infringement issues, and while the company has plenty of money in its coffers, it certainly won't want a repeat of that outcome, so this could be worth keeping an eye of to see how it develops - after all, it'll only be a matter of time before they're back at it again over last year's devices, surely.
