Despite evidence suggesting people simply aren't buying that many tablets, Apple seems set to keep these devices as part of their core pitch to consumers.
New rumours suggest that the technology giant is working on a large screen tablet - the 12.2 inch iPad Air Plus, and that it could be available by April 2015. This sounds like an update on the development of the iPad Pro, which was being positioned as something of a laptop replacement, capable of running full Mac programs.
That functionality isn't mentioned in the new report from Japanese mag Macotakara, which says the tablet could be powered by Apple's A9 chipset and features 4 speakers on the front face, giving much better stereo sound than we're used to from tablet devices. The publication also suggest an iPad Mini 4 could arrive some time in 2015.
Apple recently released the iPad Air 2 and a slightly refreshed iPad mini 3 in time for Christmas. Expect news on the iPad Air Plus in early 2015.
