Bigger isn’t always better, according to Apple who is rumoured to be working on a 4-inch iPhone alongside other new variants of the iPhone 6.
Apparently, there will be three versions of the next iPhone, an iPhone 6S; an iPhone 6S Plus, which is likely to be larger than the regular model; and the iPhone 6C, which will be the smallest of the trio. Unfortunately, the report only cites unnamed "industry sources," so there isn’t much to go on. We’d advise taking the news with a pinch of salt for the moment.
Apple has shown more willingness to experiment in recent years. It previously used the C moniker for a colourful handset, and it has increased the size of the iPhone. Would Apple be willing to take a punt on a smaller handset when most of the market is pursuing bigger and better phones? Only time will tell.
Apple is currently focused on the release of the Apple Watch. The wearable will be released on April 24th in selected territories with prices ranging from a relatively modest $349 to a whopping $17,000.
